Thank you, Lindsey and Gretchen, for your words and your insights. It seems we are all interested in the same things, and important things - being present in the moments that matter, the happiness that underlies our existence, and being ourselves - whatever that means. Thank you.

I met Gretchen last night at her talk at the 92nd Street Y and I also blogged about The Happiness Project today. I find Gretchen - and you - very inspiring.

What a fun interview! I am totally agree with Gretchen's style of long walks to get the juices flowing. When I am feeling stuck - particularly on a scene or plot problem - I hit the streets of Brooklyn 'til I figure it out!

Lindsey, I'm thrilled to see Gretchen interviewed on your blog! I came upon The Happiness Project blog a year ago during a difficult time, and found great comfort and inspiration there. I'm a loyal follower, and am reading my way through her book right now.

Gretchen has epiphanies while riding the bus. For me, it is during biking or running. There's something about the rhythm and the physical exertion that stimulates the right parts of my brain!

Thanks for another thoughtful post,
Eva

I NEED to get myself a copy of this book. I can see myself highlighting it and rereading it over and over. Because happiness IS a project but one definitely worth tackling!

Okay, I am officially persuaded. I must buy and read The Happiness Project. Until then, I will try to remember my new mantra: "Be Kristen."

I am a homebody too. I like the idea of learning to accept yourself, the good and the bad.
