Star of the Week

Every week until the end of the year, someone in the Green Room is the star of the week. Last week was Whit. This is the poster I made for him. You can’t see my witty commentary under all of the photographs, but take my word for it: it was hi-larious.

Snowing again

Snowing again.

My God. This winter just won’t quit. Whit’s school impressed me today by not having a snow day, demonstrating the kind of New England fortitude I deeply appreciate. As far as I’m concerned there was no reason to cancel school. And it’s raining now, which is doubly heinous – everything is slushy and messy but I am sure it will be frigid tonight, freezing it all into a big mess of horribleness for tomorrow morning.

As I ran this morning I contemplated whether you could engineer a surface more perfectly designed to reinjure my weak ankle. I don’t think so – a week + of solid ice under a thin layer of fluffy snow is pretty damn slippery. Then I realized I broke that ankle fifteen years ago this month – my God, how long ago that was! Lace and Quincy, I still think of you every time it hurts me (which is often).

Writing about the weather. How the never-very-mighty have fallen!
